Making Collaboration Easy

Yellowfin has taken a fresh approach to information delivery by focusing on how people interact. The great failing of traditional reporting products is that they have delivered technology rather than business oriented solutions. The tools available have created barriers between those people with business expertise and the data they need to make decisions.

Collaborative technologies are changing the way people interact. The key elements of Yellowfin’s successful collaborative solution are both presence; to allow communities of people to interact, and persistence; which enables a memory or continuity of that interaction.

This is achieved through functions such as:

Annotations

With Yellowfin you can add specific comments to your reports in the form of annotations – not only can they include text but they can also include links to external content.  Yellowfin allows you to make three types of annotations to assist your users of a report.  These are:
  • Report Level Annotations
  • Field Annotations
  • Cell Annotations

Annotations assist your reports readers to understand the reports and data that they are viewing.

Commentary & Discussion

Commentary and discussion threads let users share ideas and knowledge concerning your key business drivers.  Comments can be added to a report either for personal use or to share with others that have access to the same report.
Comments can be used to provide a greater level of information about a report or used to discuss and highlight the data contained in a report

Internal Distribution

Yellowfin enables users to share reports with other users by distributing them internally within the application to other people inboxes.  In this way your users can share useful reports with people that need access to the same analysis and data.
